Unlimited use in horse-riding, coach riding, jumping and cross country-riding as various horseshoes as well as studs can be screwed-on. On top of that, Cuffs are qualified for the therapy of several hoof ailments of the hoof & limbs. Loose or hollow walls, sandcracks, keraphllocele and other ailments can be treated with it.
DALLMER Cuffs embrace the sole and the hoof’s rim like a collar. The horseshoe gets shaped according to the hoof’s outline and prior to the glueing it gets screwed onto the DALLMER Cuff. Within a shoeing period it can get renewed at any time without having to detach the glued-on shoe.
Eggbar shoes provide a relief for the heels (greater area of support) and facilitate the rolling over the toe and a straight breakover. They can be used to treat sandcracks and podotrochlosis.
The eggbar shoe gets screwed „the other way around“ (with the heels to the front) underneath the DALLMER Cuff. Thus, the shoe’s toe area supports the heels and the fedlocks while the horseshoe’s heels serve for a straight breakover. For an exact fitting, the horseshoe’s heels are shaped 2 mm wider than the hoof‘s contour. Then, the horseshoe gets screwed onto the Dallmer Cuff making sure that it is positioned as far to the rear as necessary so that a plumbline from the corony border of the heels meets with the outer edge of the horseshoe.
Orthopedic version of the DALLMER Cuff to treat laminitis, acute and chronic ailments in the deep flexor tendon and its supporting ligaments, as well as to correct a stretched, broken digit axis. For a therapy of podotrochlosis a Cuff with semi-high heels (6°) can be used.
The wedge plate gets secrewed onto the DALLMER Cuff to raise the heels and to relieve the deep
flexor tendon. The wedge plates enable a raise of 6° or 12°. Which wedge plate is to be used is up
for the veterinarian to decide. The closed foot surfaces of the wedges provide protection against
decay and pressure, the durable-elastic cushioning made of silicone rubber or leather cement
facilitate support for the arch of the sole. Once a week, the plastic wedge should be unscrewed for
cleaning purposes and to check the hoof sole. After a successful course of treatment the heels can
be gradually lowered by rasping to get to the original position. For after-care purposes, the Cuff
CK can be used. It raises the heels by 3° and can be fitted with a special horseshoe for
regeneration.
Please note:
After glueing on the DALLMER Rehe-Cuff always open the shoe wall at the toe area with a rasp or a toeing knife!
A special type of the DALLMER Cuff for cases when the heels need to be raised (e.g. for treating podotrochlosis or for the after-treatment of laminitis).
With its reinforced sole area at the heels, the DALLMER Cuff Model CK has the means to allow a hoof correction by 3°.
