The DALLMER Clog is a buckle-on hoofshoe for protecting horses with unshod hooves. Its shock-absorbing qualities are gentle on both tendons and joints alike. The combination of anti-skid spikes with metal caulks, and inlay soles against snowballing ensures safety on winter ride outs.
For the DALLMER Clog to have a proper fit on the hoof, certain steps have to be taken: Two crossed nylon straps across the flexible heels retain the shoe on the hoof. Then, a bar has to be shortened according to the hoof’s width and screwed into the side of the Clog. The edge of the hoof, especially in the toe region, should be well rounded off. The length of the straps can be adjusted so that the padded heel support wraps around the bulb of the heels in the center. The use of the Clog requires a normal shape of the hoof as well as a normal hoof angle. Dallmer is the only hoofshoe producer who offers two different versions, taking the different shapes of front and hind hooves into account. The round models for front hooves are available in 4 different sizes; the oval designs for hind hooves are obtainable in 3 different sizes. The Clogs shouldn’t be used on the meadow or for jumping.
